What is Authentic Learning?

Concisely stated, authentic learning is learning “For Real”.

You will see the term defined and applied in many different contexts in educational blogs and journals. In concordance with the philosophy of Learning for Real, authentic learning

occurs in a culture that fosters and grows essential academic, social and emotional skills by providing a real life purpose that is meaningful to students and connects them to the world outside of school.
